Breaking: Freepers to protest New York Times Monday

From illegal immigrant anchor baby Michelle Malkin Maglalang and her terrorist pals at Free Republic comes this jewel:

Protest the New York Times Revealing of U.S. Secrets, Monday, July 10, 5 p.m.

We have a sound permit, and we will be across the street from the New York Times. They are at 229 West 43rd Street.

The groups on board so far are Free Republic, Caucus for America, the Congress for Racial Equality, and Protest Warrior, NYC Chapter. We have reached out to several other groups as well, and are waiting to hear back from them.

Some high-visibility media people are interested in speaking at the protest. More information will be coming on this as we gather groups and speakers.

So hold the date! If you have been as sick about the Times's [sic] unconscionable blabbing of our classified information as the rest of those who care about the nation, now is your chance to do something to make your outrage heard.

A freakfest on our doorstep! Can we let this pass by without suitably mocking these people? I'm thinking huge posters emblazoned with "Valerie Plame" or just pictures of Turdblossom and Scooter. The opportunities, really, are endless; and as to the high-visibility media people, all I want to know is if Rush Limbaugh Limpdick will be handing out Viagra. Or will terrorist Ann Coulter make a showing?

Ooooooh. Sweet. I am so there.

as Kos would say, "Screw Them"

Yeah, let's squash their right to protest. Only our voice matters, since they're a bunch of facist, brown-shirts who have no rights if the won't agree with us. I hope a dirty bomb goes off in Times Square that day.

Are you stoned?

Or just stupid.

First off, you must be confusing us with the terrorism-advocate Ann Coulter who does advocate violence against Americans. We don't.

Second, no one is advocating preventing them from marching. There you are confusing us with Bloomberg who DOES squelch people's right to protest. I would advocate a COUNTER protest.

If you don't see the difference between what the left wants and what un-American terrorist advocate Ann Coulter and anti-Constitution Michael Bloomberg want then you are either stoned or stupid.

A word on wingnuts

The people on the other side of the aisle, when they're not out and about trying to destroy everything that is good and right in the world, like to complain about "being persecuted".

The comment above is a good example of this.

What I would say to this particular commenter is simply that his or her drivel needs to be manually approved before it can be seen on this site. Therefore, far from quashing the freedom of speech of a winger contributor, which could be accomplished with a simple click of the 'delete' button, The Daily Gotham makes a conscious choice to allow his views to discredit themselves by being made public.

Now try that on Free Republic, and see how far you get, especially when you call for a terrorist act in the treasonous, murdering way this one thought appropriate.

The New York Times Protest

I attended the New York Times protest Last evening; It was my first. When someone asked my why, I responded, "Because I was too busy getting an education, working & raising a family to get involved in this sort of thing." There were 150-200 people protesting, with a stage & microphone. The main leaders were an Orthodox (not UltraOrthodox) Rabbi, and a blond haired woman. Guest speakers were Roy Innes, some Black man from C.O.R.E,and an Osama impersonator. There was good representation from all age groups, genders, and skin races, and apparent social classes. Opposing us in front of the N.Y.Times building were 4-6 white people, 5 males and 1 female (if you could call her that) between 25 and 35 yr old, waving little signs, and shouting nonsequators in a desperate attempt to block-out the cheers and speeches. The obese blond chick on the street bike, with the war-protest stickers on her bike & helmet was a poster-girl for the war protest movement; she blew into a whistle continuously, trying to impair others of their freedom of expression. The young cops kept order and it was clear that they drew short straws for this beat. Such was my first protest. Not Pro-war, but Anti-N.Y.Times, violating its public trust,on a politically-motivated mission, which endangers our troops and every citizen in this country.

You must mean the Republicans...

You say: "...violating its public trust,on a politically-motivated mission, which endangers our troops and every citizen in this country."

That seems to fit the Republican Party perfectly. They have ideed violated their public trust with all their lies, corruption and cronyism, and their failure to protect America from terrorists and their failure to fight al-Qaeda in their obsession with their war based on lies in Iraq sure does endanger our troops and every citizen in this nation.

The Republicans really are bad for America.

Note how

...the basic thrust of his argument is that the people fighting for, you know, freedom of the press, rationality and the American Way were basically icky in his view; not quite good enough, as it were. Certainly not decent, wholesome people of the sort our commenter claims to be. Feh.

The simple fact is that all the large Progressive orgs in this town, who could easily have turned out a larger and far more attractive crowd than Miss Maglalang the illegal immigrant anchor baby and the freeper freak show, took a pass.

One reason for that, perhaps, was that a right-wing protest might lead to physical injury or even death, considering the demonstrated propensity of right-wingers to call for the physical destruction of opponents a la republican terrorist Ann Coulter.

All I can say is that there wasn't another Timothy McVeigh to carry out a truck bombing. I don't think anybody would be surprised had that occurred. Thank god the cops were there, deterring any further or overt republican terrorism.
