Headlines, January 21
There's an absolutely hysterical diary on DKos, written as a memo to "Bill Kristol", from "Reality", that starts out: "For an effete man, you sure seem to think that you know a lot about war".
Hillary, the gift that keeps on giving – to the right. Via Urban Elephants comes this parody video of The Announcement Nobody Expected, set to Journey for added grooviness.
In case you missed it, we basically proved that Joe Mondello is a liar and announced a City Council candidacy, here and all in one fell swoop.
The New York Times, Queen of Understatement: 'Rush of Entries Gives ’08 Race Early Intensity'.
Shameless whoring, yet again: might we remind you of the fundraiser/blograiser we're putting on with every grassroots org under the broad blue sky, featuring Eliot Spitzer and David Paterson? Tickets? Get them here.
Also in The Times, pointless speculation about a possible replacement should the junior Senator win the White House; missing from the list are plans on what to do if it starts raining tiny unicorns, and Anthony Weiner, the state's most dynamic Congressman.
The Albany Times-Union: Eliot's pick for upstate development czar is announced; it's one Daniel Gundersen, who held a similar post in Pennsylvania.
And lastly, On NY Turf fights for freedom on the Upper East Side.

Okay, I'm done reconsidering
I'm now dead set against her: I missed this at the time, but she endorsed torture "in some circumstances." That's just vile.
What were you expecting?
Hillary to take a firm stance on something?
"The burning of widows - I'm against it".
Ain't gonna happen.

Video
The original of that Hillary video is just a terrible, insincere-sounding piece of crap. "Let's chat," my ass. I don't generally consider myself a Hillary-hater--I don't love her as Senator, don't totally hate her, either--but this really made me reconsider.
"Let's chat." Grrrr.
