Republican sex talk

And here, without further ado, but after the break because they're pretty graphic, are screenshots of former republican Congressman Mark Foley's communications with sixteen-year-old pages. Hat tip to AmericaBlog.

By the way, A-Blog notes that Foley may be going to jail for this under laws he himself voted for.

The real scandal, however, is that Speaker Dennis Hastert has been aware of the fact that his colleague was soliciting sex with minors for almost a year now. Hastert was protecting a predatory pedophile. From the San Francisco Daily Chronicle:

The page worked for Rep. Rodney Alexander, R-La., who said Friday that when he learned of the e-mail exchanges 10 to 11 months ago, he called the teen's parents. Alexander told the Ruston Daily Leader, "We also notified the House leadership that there might be a potential problem," a reference to the House's Republican leaders.

Foley was a member of the Republican leadership, serving as a deputy whip. He also was a member of the House Ways and Means Committee.

Also on the Ways and Means Committee: Tom Reynolds, NY-26 - right here. Here, take a look at what Congressman Reynolds' colleague did on the taxpayer dime, with teenagers working for him, and thus for you, the taxpayer:

Now remember, this came from a sitting republican Congressman who was being protected by the Speaker of the House.

Actually, BlogActive and Raw Story broke the story

Please let's give Michael Rogers of BlogActive due ASAP. Please annotate on your post that he has been tracking Foley's in-the-closet activities for 3 years now. Other people ought not be getting credit for Michael's hard work.

And follow the trail upwards on the page.
