In addition to his role as Vice Chair of the Conference, Senator Schumer will once again serve as Chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC).
Considering the outstanding job he did, it's very heartening that Senator Schumer is going to continue guiding the DSCC. On a side note, the Rs have picked Mel Martinez of Florida to run the RNC, now that twinkle-toes has departed; not sure whether that's a good move, but hey - it's their funeral.
Interesting coincidence....
Interesting coincidence that at the same time one New York Senator (Schumer) gets a top leadership position, the other NY Senator (Clinton) gives up her leadership position. Hillary is quitting as chairwoman of the policy steering committee, one of the top leadership positions. Indicating that she may not plan to be in D.C. enough of the time during the next two years to chair committee meetings....
