A Reminder to All America
As Fox News is piddling over itself ecstatically about Saddam Hussein's execution, I just want to ONCE AGAIN remind America that THIS MAN (shaking hands with Donald Rumsfeld):

Had NOTHING to do with THIS EVENT (which I experienced first hand):

So all Americans need to ask THIS MAN:

when we will catch THIS MAN:

Write the media to express your opinion on Bush's failure to fight terrorism.

Bush's daddy
I'm still convinced that the only reason we're there is that Saddam tried to off Bush senior, and because junior wanted to one-up his daddy's performance in 1991. That's the only way any of this makes sense.
You assume...
You assume it makes sense. Never underestimate people's ability to act in irrational, stupid, foolish ways.
But to me it all makes sense when I start seeing the massive profits being made by Exxon/Mobil, Bechtel and Halliburton. These profits would never have happened without the invasion of Iraq. Is the connection direct and fully reasonsed out? Probably not. But it is easy to justify stupid actions that coincidentally make you and your buddies billions of dollars.
Well, true, but
...they're not really making those profits in Iraq, at least not Exxon; Halliburton and Bechtel, sure, they've made billions, but the latter has withdrawn.
Thing is, of course, that the PNAC people never considered the idea that the invasion and occupation of an Islamic country with too few troops and no plan whatsoever might spark resistance and violence. You're absolutely right when you take foolishness, arrogance, ideology and abject stupidity into account; that's the thread that binds the last six years together, from "Osama bin Laden determined to strike inside the United States", deficits, protectionist tariffs, the California "energy crisis", 9/11, "Dead or Alive", "Mission Accomplished", all the way to Iraq and Katrina.
Hubris
Plain and simple hubris in the traditional Greek way. Unfortunately, the downfall that results from that hubris is taking a lot of innocent lives with it.
Pretty much
sums it up right there.
