Congressman John Conyers has joined Dennis Kucinich, Maxine Waters, Norm Siegel,Stephanie Tubbs Jones, Paul Robeson, Jr. and Impeach PAC in endorsing Chris Owens for the NY-11 Congressional race.

I am proud to announce that I have received the endorsement of Representative John Conyers of Michigan.  Rep. Conyers is the most senior member of the Congressional Black Caucus and has been a leader in the recent battles for the integrity of our Presidential elections, a fighter for full disclosure of the Downing Street memos and against Bush misinformation regarding the Iraq War, the leading Congressional voice in the movement to impeach President Bush for violating the law with regard to domestic spying, and a man who kept the dignity and activism of Civil Rights pioneer Rosa Parks going for so many years as a member of his staff.

Receiving Congressman Conyer's endorsement, which follows the endorsement of civil rights activist-turned Congressman John Lewis and fighters like Representatives Maxine Waters, Bernie Sanders, Stephanie Tubbs-Jones, Major Owens and others, is a real honor for the Chris Owens for Congress campaign and further evidence of our momentum and movement-building.  But now we have to take this movement to the streets.

TOMORROW, Friday, March 31st is an extremely important deadline for our campaign.   We have almost reached our fundraising goal for this first quarter of 2006!
