The Race to Replace Yvette: Wellington Sharpe
Wellington Sharpe is something of an always ran. His latest run is to replace Yvette Clarke. He is founder and president of Nelrak Child Development Center and a member of Community Board 17. He is considered to be something of an ally of the Norman-era Brooklyn machine, though I personally liked him when I met him, found he was in agreement with Bill Batson and myself regarding the significance of arson fires in Brooklyn, and held several good positions. Rock Hackshaw of Room 8 has endorsed (and I believe is working for) Sharpe, but I am unaware of any other endorsements (none are listed on his site).

huh?
Wellington Sharpe is anything BUT the remnants of the Norman era machine having run against Norman candidates for his entire life. In fact, he campaigned with anti-Norman candidates, most notably Joan Gill, who ran against Norman herself at the time. Get the facts right!
Ummm...
My facts are that several people who are immersed in Brooklyn politics link him to the machine. As I said, I personally feel he seems largely in agree ment with many more reform minded people. So come ON. Read what I said rather than be an ass. As to the rest of your comment, thanks for your views. We do welcome them and want people to discuss the candidates here.

Wish he would stop...
