Recent polls are showing a tight race and you can make a real difference in just a weekend. You'll also be volunteering for competitive down-ballot races for us to make a difference on, including Maggie Hassan for Governor (who, if elected, would be the nation's only sitting female Governor) and Carol Shea-Porter for Congress - one of the most competitive House races this cycle that could make the difference in returing the House to the Democrats!

Samuel L. Jackson's message to Apathetic Voters
I say, people who don't vote should shut up. And that includes, in my book, local races and even primaries. I have seen MANY races where really every vote DOES count, so not voting means you are choosing to let others choose for you.
Samuel L. Jackson is way cooler than me...he puts it this way:
Important Obama Campaign Trip to Pennsylvania, Saturday, June 2nd
This comes from a friend who does a huge amount of this kind critical stuff:
Obama Campaign Trip to Pennsylvania
Saturday, June 2nd, 8:30 am
Departing Port Authority Bus Station, NYC
Dear Friend,
Please join me Saturday, June 2nd for a day of canvassing with the Obama campaign in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley. This is a bellwether district in a swing state, and a short bus ride from New York City.
Recent polling shows the presidential race reverting to a neck-and-neck contest. The Gallup Tracking poll shows a one-point race, Obama 45, Romney 46. Mason-Dixon has Romney up by three points. Rassmussen Tracking has Obama up by two. The CBS News/New York Times poll gives Romney a three point advantage 46 to 43. All indications point to a desperately close election, and we need your help now in swing states, like Pennsylvania. The president’s reelection depends on our presence on the doorsteps in key areas, early and often.
We meet at Port Authority Bus Terminal (South Terminal, 8th Ave. btwn 40th & 41st St.), at 8:30 am Saturday morning, June 2nd. Buses return at 4:05 and 6:10 pm. Round trip on the bus is $41.15. The ride is about 1 hour 40 minutes. A home-cooked lunch is provided.
Thank you to everyone for your time and commitment. Please RSVP by e-mail, phone, or sign up on the Obama campaign website, so I can provide a headcount to Obama’s team in the Lehigh Valley. I look forward to seeing you again.
Best wishes,
Tom Predhome

Even MORE important now: New York Bus Trip to Pennsylvania for GOTV
I posted this yesterday but new polls show that this is even MORE
critical than it was when I first posted. The latest poll shows
Sestak, the progressive candidate, within the margin of error against
the Tea Party candidate Toomey. That means we can win this one if we
try. So, let me REPOST what I said yesterday with renewed urgancy:
My friend from the Independent Neighborhood Democrats has been
organizing bus trips to Pennsylvania for GOTV efforts since 2006. In
2008 he and a handful of others from New York almost doubled the
efforts of an understaffed local Dem Party in Pennsylvania’s 8th
Congressional District and seriously helped energize the Democratic
vote. He is doing it again this year, though not on the scale he did
in 2008. But it still could do wonders for Pennsylvania's Senate race.

It hasn’t been easy, and the forces of the status quo are baying like wounded animals, but we have the opportunity to prove the pundits wrong. Governor Deval Patrick of Massachusetts recently said, “The 2008 election was about changing the guard; 2010 is about guarding the change.” read more »
