For those not following this 100%, "Ballad in Plain D" is, among other things, a Dylan take on Suze & Carla: lyrics here.

I was a much scrawnier, much younger, kid in the background at Gerdes and the after-hours loft parties where -- to be fair -- wine and smoke were shared by all. My view of that song, as you might imagine, is that it shows the personal limits of the lyricist, not either of the Rotolos.
