Democracy for America Endorses Steve Behar for City Council (Queens)

Recently I covered my friend, City Council candidate Josh Skaller's, endorsement by Howard Dean and Democracy for America (DFA). DFA has now endorsed another friend of mine, this time running for City Council in Queens. From Jim Dean and Democracy for America:

If you are an active DFA member in New York, you probably know about Steve Behar.

He's a founder of our local DFA group, Democracy for New York City, and has served as the President of Democrats for New Politics since 2004. He has continuously worked to push the progressive movement forward and now he's running for New York City Council, District 19.

Steve worked on Governor Howard Dean's presidential campaign in New Hampshire and New York in 2004. Since then, Steve has campaigned for over 20 progressive candidates and has dedicated himself to electing good progressive candidates and ridding the Democratic Party of phony Democrats. He worked to beat Joe Lieberman in the Connecticut primary in 2006 and supported the election of Rep. Donna Edwards of Maryland in 2008. His campaign is a continuation of this work and like Governor Dean, he represents "the Democratic wing of the Democratic Party."

Steve Behar is the only DFA-endorsed candidate in the race for New York City Council, district 19.

VOLUNTEER OR CONTRIBUTE RIGHT NOW TO DELIVER THE RESOURCES TO WIN

On the New York City Council, Steve Behar will work with fellow reform-minded leaders to affect real, lasting change and ensure good government. As a longtime Bayside resident, he understands that the 19th district needs a representative who will fight for the community and against special interest groups.

Steve has been working with you to move this country forward. Now it's up to us to work with him. Please support his campaign in as many ways as you can.

Thank you for everything you do,

-Jim
