The news that Republican and Tea Party candidate for Governor of New York Carl Paladino has been forwarding numerous racist, pornographic and bestiality emails to his buddies has leaked out. Yes, this self-proclaimed moral conservative has been distributing many emails with highly offensive content such as:

# A popular video among white supremacists called "Obama Inauguration Rehearsal," that includes dancing African tribesmen.

# A video titled "Miss France 2008 fucking," that Paladino called "a keeper."

# An image of Barack and Michelle Obama dressed like a pimp and a prostitute, with the subject line, "White House ball."

# An image with the caption, "HOLY SHIT, run niggers, run."

# A bestiality video featuring a man and a horse.

Yes, it appears Republican and Tea Bagger values include white supremacist videos and videos of a person and a horse having sex. And this guy wants to be our Governor????

What was the response from Paladino's camp?

His campaign manager, Michael Caputo, himself of dubious character, calls the outcry against Palandino's forwarding white supremacist and bestiality videos as just a "distraction" from "real" issues. Caputo, the fact that your candidate seems to use the term "nigger," gets videos popular among white supremacists and forwards them on, and seems into bestiality videos HAS BECOME the issue, whether you like it or not.

And Paladino himself apologized, claiming that he didn't know what half the emails contained.

Okay...so half of those racist and pornographic emails he DID know what they contained, by his own admission, and yet he still forwarded them. That implies he approved of their content. Add to that the fact that these are the kinds of emails he gets routinely from people he trusts well enough to forward their stuff to others. Personally, if I started randomly forwarding my emails to people without knowing their content, my friends would NOT be getting white supremacist and bestiality videos. They'd be getting pleas for money from politicians and environmental groups, and so-called Nigerian scams and offers for debt reduction. And the occasional invitation to a kids birthday party.

Finally, how abysmally STUPID do you have to be to forward emails widely without knowing their content??? At a bare minimum this Paladino guy has some really disgusting friends he knows and trusts and is himself extremely stupid. At worst he is a white supremacist and racist who is into bestiality videos.

And he wants to be our governor????? Sorry, Paterson would be infinitely better than this guy and we know how good Paterson has been. But sad to say, in the long litany of Republican sex scandals, Republican pedophiles, and Republican corruption, Pladino isn't even the worst. Pretty damned bad, but not the worst.

Somehow I think "Don't Paladino the Palomino" may well enter the lexicon, perhaps to describe stupidly forwarding extremely offensive and compromising emails while running for public office.
