Meet the New District Leaders in Brooklyn

These are the new folks who won last night who are going to give Party Boss Vito Lopez some headaches (relative sizes of photos mere coincidence...not indicative of anything but how the photos were from the original websites...Guess CBID has small photos).

Chris Owens, from the 52nd (where he is teamed up with incumbent reform district leader Jo Anne Simon)

Chris Owens with Velmanette Montgomery (from the Central Brooklyn Independent Democrats Website)

Lincoln Restler, from the 50th:

Lincoln Restler with the lovely Councilwoman Diana Reyna (from the New Kings Democrats Website)

Kevin Carroll, from the 60th: (I stayed neutral in this race)

Kevin Carroll with Bill Thompson (from the Brooklyn Democrats for Change website)

All three of these people were opposed by Vito Lopez and won anyway. I know all three of these gentlemen, though I am only acquainted with two of them well. I can say Chris Owens and Lincoln Restler both rock and their respective Brooklyn political clubs (Central Brooklyn Independent Democrats and New Kings Demcorats) also rock. Kevin Carroll and his club (Brooklyn Democrats for Change) are outside my usual sphere of activity, but I know enough about him to know that Vito Lopez will not be happy dealing with him.

Let's see how these folk do in standing up to the machine.
