I would like to highlight a mayoral candidate forum that occurred January 31st, 2013...it seems to be one of the most comprehensive candidate forums to date. It was held by The Uptown Current, a "forum for local writers, artists, and filmmakers to cover what is taking place in northern Manhattan by covering a wide range of topics." Hope this gets out some info on these candidates since we all need to be paying attention. It's about time we have a more progressive mayor! I just want to comment that you need to be VERY suspicious of any politician that talks about affordable housing because all too often that is little more than a code word for giving developers ANYTHING they want and never actually seeing affordable housing...Quinn and de Blasio have in the past talked affordable housing, but more often than not the projects they have supported wound up dropping the ball on affordable housing and only gave profits to developers. Do not trust politicians on affordable housing unless they are willing to talk about GUARANTEES for that affordable housing (something Quinn and de Blasio always failed to do).
