Signage in the 40th

The election to fill departed-for-Congress councilwoman's Yvette Clarke's seat is slated for February 20th, and there is, as usual, a cast of thousands. Here's some campaign signage:

- Jesse Hamilton [1], recently elected Democratic district leader in the 43d Assembly district, a past president of community school board 17, longtime union member and, as you can see, patriotic father of two. Interesting messaging choice, I must say.

- Zenobia McNally [2], a former Young & Rubicam executive who presently runs her own marketing firm, sits on the Community Board and leads several neighborhood organizations dedicated to affordable housing, among other things. McNally primaried Yvette Clarke in 2005 with Owens backing, taking 23% of the vote.

There are more candidates - including perennial contender Wellington Sharpe [3] and Yassky-wannabe Harry Schiffman, Director of Government and Community Relations for Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center - but signage is still relatively low-volume in the district. This can be expected to change shortly.
