Rudy Giuliani's negligence is proportional to the devastation wrought on 9/11
Do you remember when Rudy Giuliani made the outrageous claim that it was unfair for anyone to criticize him and his administration because no one could have been prepared for jets flying into buildings? Or that it was not his fault he chose to put the mayoral emergency response bunker, a $61 million emergency-command center and obvious terrorist target inside 7 World Trade Center?
Well, the Memory Hole doesn't want you to forget the facts:
It's getting hard to keep track of all the ways in which one of the biggest 9/11 lies--that the government just didn't foresee, couldn't have forseen, an attack on the World Trade Center--has been exposed. Add another one to the list. The image above is from the cover of the manual "Managing Weapons of Mass Destruction Incidents: An Executive Level Program for Sheriffs." The manual was given to people who participated in the training program of the same name, which taught local law enforcement how to deal with terrorist attacks. Notice that the cover is imprinted with the seal of the US Justice Department (and the seal of the National Sheriffs' Association). In the bottom right corner, the date is a little hard to read; it says: "Version: June 2000." The full 250-page manual--with "law enforcement sensitive" at the bottom of each page--was given to me by someone who participated in the training in 2000. (The program is now sponsored by the Office of Homeland Security, according to this page at the National Sheriffs' Association.)
One of the biggest lies about 9/11 was that the government couldn't have done anything to prevent it and that they had no guidelines for dealing with an attack. They did and yet they chose to lie about it.
Particularly Rudy Giuliani.
The failed presidential candidate and now governor wanna-be knew 7WTC was not a place to put an emergency response center and yet he went ahead and spent $67 million of tax-payers money that cost the lives of almost 3,000 people that day.
I saw the towers come down from the rooftop of my apartment and the one question I had was, why aren't there helicopters putting the fire from above. Why weren't there any planes drowing the fire the way we see it happens over forest fires. Particularly since we are surrounded by river water.
And to this day, it is not clear to me whether we even have in New York City a plan for aerial firefighting to deal with the devastating fires of catastrophes or attacks like the one on 9/11.
You don't have to be a truther to still insist that there was a massive cover-up of the hubris if not corruption surrounding the mess that was the emergency response system on the day of 9/11.
Rudy Giuliani should have been impeached for his mishandling of everything having to do with putting in place the guidelines by the Justice Department, Air Force and other federal agencies up until 9/11.
For that matter, he should not even be allowed to run for a primary. Megalomania is the only reason why he would even consider himself capable of becoming governor of our state.
Rudy Giuliani's hubris cost the lives of every single person who died at the WTC attacks on September 11, 2001. We have to remind him he has the blood of innocents still dripping from his hands.
