TERM LIMIT PETITION
Sign the BoroughVoter.com petition asking elected officials to abide by the term limits voted on by the voters. The link is www.boroughvoter.com/?cat=55 The petition text is as follows: We the undersigned ask all affected Staten Island elected officials to abide by the Term Limits law voted on by the voters of New York City in 1993 and 1996. Without a voter-approved referendum, we ask all Staten Island elected officials affected by the recent Term Limit extension to not abide by the City Council's vote. If it is true that elected officials represent their respective constituencies, then the unanimous vote by Staten Island City Councilmen against this measure should speak loud and clear on the behalf of all Staten Islanders. Therefore, we ask all affected Staten Island elected officials to abide by the term limits voted on by the voters in 1993 and again in 1996.

NY-13: Primary Tomorrow w/ Bush Democrat
Bumped - Bouldin. Cross-posted on Daily Kos In NY-13, Vito Fossella's district, a competitive Democratic primary is in the works. On one side, you have a candidate named Mike McMahon. Who is Mike McMahon? From the Politico: "He’s not as conservative as Powers, but he definitely appeals to us on some of the issues. He appeals to us on his opposition to gay marriage, and he told us he continues to support U.S. action in Iraq." - Conservative Party Chair Jerry Kasser On the other side, we have Steve Harrison, a co-author of "The Responsible Plan to End the War in Iraq.". Guess which one the DCCC endorsed? Once again, the DCCC has stuck its hands in a primary, supporting the Bush Democrat before the people even had a chance to decide for themselves what they wanted. We, the people, must stand behind the progressive Democrat who is for HR 676, safe renewable energy, and for the withdrawal of our troops from Iraq.

On one of my first entries at the NY13 blog, I responded to a reader's question regarding the SILive forums and I noted how the Harrison campaign does not tell its supporters what to do or say. When it comes to the McMahon camp, I'm not sure if I can say the same. Two days ago, a post by a McMahon supporter hinged on hateful rhetoric and brushed aside the recent homicides on the North Shore. McMahon and his supporters should know better - it's his district, after all. We must come together as a community and do something about the guns and violence in neighborhoods across the Island. Watch the video below and look at the faces of the young children who have hopes and dreams for their future.

Trina Solar Signs Contract with GT Solar
Trina Solar Limited, a leading integrated manufacturer of solar photovoltaic products from the production of ingots, wafers and cells to the assembly of PV modules, founded in 1997, today announced that it has signed an agreement with GT Solar Incorporated ("GT Solar") to purchase primary converter and reactor systems for its planned polysilicon production project for a total consideration of approximately US$49 million, with purchase price to be paid in installments over an approximate period of 12 to 18 months. The execution of this agreement is subject to final approval by the Boards of both companies. "We are very excited to further our partnership with GT Solar, who will provide us a world class platform which is expected to extend our technology, brand and cost advantages to include silicon feedstock under our vertically integrated manufacturing model," said Jifan Gao, Trina Solar's Chairman and CEO. "We believe GT Solar's advanced technology will help Trina Solar to reduce cost in the long run in connection with our polysilicon production."
Dressing the Bouquet
The stems of a bouquet can be literally overshadowed by the flowers above, but they should be just as beautiful as the blooms. Much as you choose the right shoe for a dress or the right tie for a suit, give careful consideration to the stems. Whether a bride walks down the aisle with an elaborate bundle of peonies or outfits herself and her bridesmaids with modern sheaths of calla lilies, a thoughtful treatment of a bouquet's handle or stems will complete the look.
Pear Necklaces
Although we find variety of jewelry items made from pearls, the most popular are perhaps the pearl necklaces. Depending on their lengths and designs they have been given unique names. Mostly, we find that length is the only consideration when we refer to necklaces but in the case of pearls it is not so. Pearl necklaces are not defined merely by their physical measurement; rather strings of pearls have their own set of names that characterize the pearls based on where they hang when worn around the neck. Popular types of pearl necklaces and their names are: A collar will sit directly against the throat and not hang down the neck at all; they are often made up of multiple strands of pearls. Pearl chokers nestle just at the base of the neck. They are universal in their appeal. It suits almost any dress and any neckline. Pearl chokers are a must-have item on every woman’s list who loves to wear jewelry. The size called a princess comes down to or just below the collarbone. This is also an all time favorite. The size, shape and color of the pearls can define its use either as casual wear or for a special occasion.

BRONX COUNTY GOP - THE HEAT IS ON!!
And yet another story on Bronx County GOP: http://www.nypost.com/seven/02032008/news/regionalnews/da_probes_downtown_bronx_pol_752362.htm DA PROBES DOWNTOWN 'BRONX' POL By BRUCE GOLDING February 3, 2008 -- Prosecutors are investigating a Bronx politician after The Post revealed he's been living for years in lower Manhattan in apparent violation of state law. The Post has also learned that election officials knew almost a decade ago that GOP district leader Fred Brown lived outside The Bronx, but ignored the information. A November 1999 letter to the city Board of Elections said Brown "has not lived in this district or borough for many years" and was using a phony address to run for district leader. A spokeswoman said the board could not act on the complaint because it was made anonymously, and state law requires a signed affidavit to challenge a voter's registration. The Bronx DA's Office is investigating whether Brown, 72, filed false documents to register and vote in The Bronx, a spokesman said. That crime is a felony punishable by up to four years in prison.

BRONX COUNTY GOP - ANOTHER NEWS ARTICLE!!
There is yet another news article in yesterday's 1/29/07 Village Voice newspaper on Jay Savino and Fred Brown. http://www.villagevoice.com/news/0805,barrett,78995,6.html Fred Brown, a Bronx delegate for Giuliani and former school-board member, was convicted of using the school district's printing press to produce a 100-page political journal in the '80s. Asked by the Voice about the 13 liens and judgments against him totaling more than $100,430—including three from the IRS for $32,986—Brown said he didn't know what they were about, adding that he was scheduled "to meet with the IRS in February." Brown conceded that he lives at 355 South End Avenue in Battery Park City, even though he is running as a delegate from the address he's registered at in the Bronx. "My [previous] apartment at 375 South End was destroyed on 9/11," he explained.
